Meadow Blazingstar: Late Pink Prairie Wildflower

I wonder if the Meadow Blazingstar flower I found today, almost hidden in the grass, is the last I'll see this year... It must be late in the season for this pink prairie wildflower — and I only saw one bloom where last summer, I saw many.

Frowzy. That's what my mother would have called this particular Blazingstar flower. Bedraggled. Not at all at its height-of-season, brilliant-colour best. But Blazongstars always look somewhat dishevelled. Delicately so. And beautiful.
